Pre-Painted Aluminium Coils for Roofing Sheet

The roofing system is the most demanding part of a building envelope, constantly subjected to direct UV radiation, rain erosion, snow loads, temperature deformation and wind uplift. Material performance directly determines the building's waterproofing lifespan and maintenance costs. Traditional color steel roofing sheets are prone to rust and perforation, and have short coating lifespans. Ordinary bare aluminum coils lack sufficient strength and are unsuitable for roll forming processes. Pre-painted aluminum coils, optimized specifically for roofing sheet manufacturing, use high-strength aluminum alloy substrate with an architectural-grade weather-resistant coating. They perfectly match various roll forming processes for roofing sheets, including vertical seam, angle seam, and corrugated finishes, making them the core preferred material for upgrading global metal roofing systems.

Substrate performance is the foundation of roofing sheet structural safety. The pre-painted aluminium coils for roofing sheet product comes standard with AA3004-H16/H18 high-strength aluminum-manganese alloy, a standard grade specifically for roof sheets. Compared to the general-purpose 3003 alloy, it has a higher manganese content, achieving a tensile strength of 200–260 MPa. Its resistance to wind uplift and snow loads is improved by over 30%, while retaining excellent cold-bending performance. After roll forming, the edges are clear, the seams are tightly interlocked, and there are no springback cracking defects. For standard projects, the AA3003-H14 pre-painted aluminium coils can also be used, suitable for large-span, gently sloping roofs and roofs with ordinary loads. The standard thickness ranges from 0.4mm to 1.2mm. The surface is precisely leveled, and the shape tolerances are accurately controlled. It can be directly connected to high-speed continuous roll forming production lines, resulting in a flat surface and tight overlaps after forming, ensuring the roof's waterproof and sealing performance from the material end.

The coating system is specifically optimized for extreme roof conditions, offering three levels of solutions: polyester (PE), high-weather-resistant polyester (HDP), and fluorocarbon (PVDF), suitable for different climate zones and warranty periods. Employing a double-coat, double-bake continuous roller coating process, the front dry film thickness is 25–40 μm, while the back is coated with a ≥10 μm anti-corrosion primer, forming a complete protective layer. The PVDF fluorocarbon version contains ≥70% fluoropolymer, conforming to AAMA 2605 standards. After 2000 hours of accelerated aging testing under xenon lamps, the color difference ΔE is ≤2.0, and the outdoor weather resistance lifespan reaches 15–20 years, making it suitable for coastal areas and high-altitude regions with strong ultraviolet radiation. The coating formula includes heat-insulating and reflective components; the light-colored version has a solar reflectance of ≥0.7, effectively reducing roof surface temperature and building air conditioning energy consumption, meeting green building energy-saving requirements.

Engineering-grade quality control ensures consistency and durability for large-area roof system. The color coated aluminium coils for roofing employs a fully automated closed-loop color matching system, ensuring a color difference of ΔE ≤ 1.0 within the same batch, and eliminating color gaps throughout the entire project. The coating adhesion meets ASTM D3359 4B standards, and the paint film does not crack or peel after rolling, bending, and edge-locking. A 1500-hour neutral salt spray test showed no blistering or rust, guaranteeing the aluminum material's lifetime rust resistance and completely solving the common problem of steel roofs rusting and leaking within 3-5 years. The dense paint film has a self-cleaning effect, easily washing away dust and dirt, maintaining a clean appearance for a long time and significantly reducing high-altitude maintenance costs.

Compared to traditional galvanized color steel roofing sheets, pre-painted aluminum roofing sheets are 60% lighter, reducing the structural load on the building. They also have a more stable coefficient of thermal expansion, and the floating edge-locking system effectively absorbs temperature deformation, preventing surface deformation and leakage. No rust removal or painting is required throughout the entire lifespan, reducing maintenance costs by over 70%, and the aluminum material is 100% recyclable. From industrial plants and logistics warehouses to commercial complexes, airports, and train stations, pre-painted aluminum coils for roofing sheets are becoming the standard material for high-end metal roofing systems worldwide due to their comprehensive advantages of long-lasting durability, energy efficiency, and low dimensionality.
